Discover Strasbourg's oldest and most elegant park, a calm oasis with a lake, storks and hidden corners where time stands still.
About this activity
The Parc de l'Orangerie is Strasbourg's green lung and oldest park, designed in 1692 and expanded during the Napoleonic era. Its 26 hectares offer a perfect refuge for slow travellers: an artificial lake with lazy swans, a 19th-century Joséphine pavilion, and a colony of storks nesting in the treetops for decades. The park also features hidden paths among centuries-old oaks, strategically placed benches by the lake, a miniature waterfall, and rose gardens with hundreds of varieties. Bring a book and the willingness to do nothing productive for at least an hour.
